**UPDATED**
Beginning now in the 2024-2025 school year, and for the forseable future, students will not be able to check out or renew books if there is still one overdue. These overdue books must be turned in or paid for before the student is allowed to check out or renew any book(s). For example, a student might have three books checked out, one of which is overdue. The computer will not allow any book(s) to be checked out or renewed until that one overdue book is returned or the fee is paid. It’s becoming an inconvenience to the office staff and myself when they are trying to help the students, but then have to come get me out of my class to try to fix this for the student. Students need to be more responsible for the books they have borrowed from the school. I try to keep the fees reasonable, and I send replacement costs based off of prices found on Amazon, versus ordering from one of my school book vendors, which can get pricey.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Not sure what your kiddos are reading? Maybe you want to review some books for your kiddo before buying them? Check out this website for some amazing insights and reviews on Movies, TV shows, Books, Games, Podcasts, and Apps! This website was formerly “Focus on the Family” which aired snippets on radio stations around the country. I remember hearing the commercials “Focus on the Family with James Dobson” all the time while driving. “Common Sense is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of all kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in the 21st century.” I feel that this website provides excellent information for parents to use to make informed decisions on media they choose for their children. I use this website, as well as others, to review books prior to purchasing new materials for the school library. They have a lot of different criteria they review based on the recommended age and grade level of the book.

To find out if a book NOT from our library is available to test on Accelerated Reader (AR) you can use this website https://www.arbookfind.com/ from your computer, tablet, or phone to search and find out! You can search by title, but it is a lot easier and more accurate if you search by the ISBN number, which is located either above or below the store UPC barcode.
